What a great event! I’m so glad we were able to go.
Chase and I got up early Saturday morning and ran some errands and then hit the road to Huntsville around 10:30-ish.
We’ve gotten so used to driving to Nashville for events – and the drive to Nashville is insanely boring. 3 hours of nothing but interstate. Huntsville was a much more interesting drive,it was actually a fun trip and the drive wasn’t bad at all.
We got to our hotel – Embassy Suites, nice rooms, and we took a nap, LOL. I was still on medication from getting my wisdom teeth out wednesday, so it was much needed.
We got up and got dinner, and then came back and I did my makeup and got the wig on, and we headed over to the concert hall (our hotel connected to it, luckily, so we never had to walk outside)
It ended up being that the show was sold out so it was a packed house! Everyone got changed and we all headed out into the lobby to greet guests as they arrived.
AlabamaAmidala was Ariel, she was great!
Chase was originally supposed to be Jango — but at the last minute their Vader had to stay home, so Chase was Vader for the night.
Me with the conductor š
Chase came onstage when the Star Wars theme started… and conducted the orchestra LOL
The rest of the 501st!
During the Superman theme, Vader & Superman had some sort of battle onstage LOL
Then they asked all of us come onstage, right before intermission.
The second half of the show was the Alan Menken tribute – with several broadway stars including the original Gaston from Beauty the Beast (Burke Moses), and Jodi Benson (Ariel!). It was awesome to hear Jodi Benson sing “Part of Your World” live!
We didn’t hang around very long afterwards, since there was a tornado watch/thunderstorms heading that way. But here’s Jodi Benson signing autographs:
We got back to the hotel and took a few pics of me on the stairway at the hotel – they turned out kinda dark, I’ll have to see if Chase can fix them.
My solution to the dirty shoes? I put like 100 more rhinestones on them. LMAO my bling bling shoes.
We spent the next hour or so watching the news to see where the storm was moving, and watching the lightning out the window. We got everything packed and ready in case we needed to bolt downstairs – I was almost expecting Chase to say “Let’s go on and go home!” like we did that one time in Jackson, MS – but the worst of the storm missed us. The storm knocked the hotel’s computers out, so check out was a little weird… but we got on the road by 9:30 and we were at Mother’s Day lunch by 1.
So yeah, we were really happy with the event, glad to be invited and very glad we were able to go!
What a fun event š Your dress is so gorgeous, I can only image how amazing it will look when you remake it! Do you have boning in the bodice? I was just thinking the point of the bodice might sit straighter with a little boning š And the shoes are very cool š Great solution!
The pictures are great! I just love your Belle dress- it suits you!
Firstly congrats on getting married. If you looked half as great as you do in these pictures Chase must have been blown away!
I Love the costume, but am particularly fond of your endor Leia outfit. I am currently trying to replicate that screen costume myself for trooping and would appreciate any advice you could give me š
Sorry for just now noticing your comment!!
(and thank you very much!)
Which one are you doing, the gear or the ewok village dress? If you’d like you can email me at dorks@yarwood.org and I can give you a rundown of either š
